Minister Jan Mládek met with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and visited the EXPO 2017 complex

Minister of Industry and Trade Jan Mládek met with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Bakytzhan Sagintajev, today. He took part in the ceremonial signing of the Agreement on the Czech Republic’s Participation in the EXPO 2017 exhibition, met with the Managing Director of EXPO 2017, Akhmetzhan Jessimov, and viewed the progress of the realisation of the Czech Republic’s pavilion for EXPO 2017, accompanied by the Commissioner of the Czech exhibit, Jan Krs.

“The Prime Minister and I spoke about energy, which was the main topic of the business trip to Kazakhstan for over thirty Czech entrepreneurs, and also about other opportunities for Czech-Kazakh collaboration. The Republic of Kazakhstan is currently a major supplier of crude oil to us, because ten per cent of all the crude oil we require comes from oil fields in Kazakhstan. Our discussion also revealed potential for collaboration in a range of other segments, which I consider to be present particularly in the field of deliveries of technologies and manufacturing units for the Kazakhstan agricultural sector and food production, as well as in the modernisation and improvement of the environmental friendliness of the power industry and heat generation,” Jan Mládek stated after his meeting with Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintajev.

Minister Jan Mládek also visited the EXPO 2017 complex today. He met with the Chairman of the Administrative Council of the National Corporation for EXPO 2017, Akhmetzhan Jessimov.

EXPO 2017, with its theme of the future of the world power industry, is considered a wonderful opportunity for Czech manufacturers and exporters to present themselves in the Eurasian economic area and to present the increase in contracts with Czech companies worldwide, because EXPO 2017 will be a worldwide event,” Minister Jan Mládek said.

During his visit to the EXPO 2017 complex, the chairman of the Administrative Council of the National Corporation for EXPO 2017, Akhmezthan Jessimov, and the Commissioner of the Czech Republic for EXPO 2017, Jan Krs, signed the Agreement on the Czech Republic’s Participation in the EXPO 2017 exhibition.

Jan Mládek, accompanied by Commissioner Jan Krs, then viewed the prepared Czech display at EXPO 2017, which will have nearly 300 square metres of display areas and corresponding areas as facilities for the Czech exhibition team. The preparatory construction work for the Czech pavilion at EXPO 2017 is practically finished and the selection proceedings for a supplier of the actual construction of the pavilion are now taking place.
